Health and Human Services Insurance and Risk Management

Whether for or not-for-profit, health and human services (HHS) insurance and risk management considerations are unique from most other industries. Other industries may be manufacturing, retail, health care, contracting, service providers, agricultural, hospitality, education, or financial services. Each has exclusive elements, however HHS firms are different from the rest, and deserve interaction like no others.

We conduct inside-out deep dives of analysis to serve these organizations in all of our marketing and sales territories across the US. Over time, we come to be considered a key element of the inner sanctum for our client concerns, typically at the table of decision-making that includes their accounting, legal, and human resource providers.

Best practices require an engaged sales and service team that is familiar with complex risk management considerations that may include housing, professional liability, cyber liability exposure, self-managed or traditional worker’s compensation and employer’s liability, vehicle fleets, directors and officers liability protection, ERISA coverage, voluntary benefits structures, fiduciary protection, abuse & molestation coverage, commercial or not-for-profit liability, key-man, property, and volunteer protection plans.

Having significant experience serving these companies, we represent the major insurance carriers that support them. No two risks are identical, even considering what appears to be the same on their face. Coverage territories and consumer protection/business regulation statutory requirements vary from state to state in ways that strongly impact coverage and pricing. We use innovative strategies to determine the best risk transfer mechanisms in various states to help client firms manage risks and protect the abilities to perform their mission. When we advocate for an institution, we submit proposal requests to two or even three coverage providers, to create risk management mitigation options for those clients.

Mission Critical

We engage our servant’s hearts when working with HHS organizations. Consistently, they plan and execute a strategy of helping people. Whether working in the industry of adoption, youth services, addiction services, or housing and habilitation of persons who experience developmental disabilities, we help them manage the details on their risk management controls to enable them to manage their resources and manpower to maximize the positive impact for the benefit of their mission.
